His focuses are on Business Continuation, Executive Bonus/Nonqualified Deferred Compensation, Group Benefits, Estate Planning and Investments.
Mel graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business/Marketing. He started his working career in the automotive industry with General Motors Corporation in Sales and Marketing. While working for GM, they sponsored him for the University of Charleston™s Executive MBA program. Shortly after graduation, Mel began his financial services career with the Principal Financial Group. He has held past positions as a Manager, Sales Manager, Career Development Manager and Business Market Consultant.
Mel has been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers (NAIFA) since 1994 - Financial Planning Association (FPA). Mel is a multi-year qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). Members must meet stringent requirements, including adhering to a strict code of ethics, continuing education and must re-qualify annually with top production levels, he just recently attained Qualifying and Life status. He is a former Board of Director for the Navy League. He also belongs to the New Albany Chamber of Commerce.
